Program Note

La Pluma del Aura (“Feather of the Aura”) is an intimate work for cello and piano that explores the ephemeral, the sacred, and the deeply human. A meditation on breath, weightlessness, and memory, the piece hovers between song and lament, fragility and fervor. The cello acts as a kind of inner voice—sometimes murmuring, sometimes soaring—while the piano offers both foundation and foil, shifting from crystalline delicacy to storm-like resonance. Written in 2019, the piece draws inspiration from poetry and the image of a single feather drifting downward through light. It was premiered to great acclaim, with one audience member calling it "the most moving piece on the program."
